CELEBRATE AUSTRALIA DAY THE CALINGARRY CROSSING WAY
The local Saddleton Harvest News extends a big Calingarry Crossing Australia Day welcome. Our little town is buzzing with business owners ready to celebrate. Bring the family. Bring the dog, the horse, the cow. Ladies, bring your husband (if you can tear him away from the cricket).
It’s here! And the House for all Seasons town of Calingarry Crossing is ready to par-tay! Celebrations begin with a dawn flag raising event at Calingarry’s war memorial in the main street, followed by a program of fun for the whole family, with street closures in place from 7 am – 3 pm. The afternoon will see the return of Saddleton Rotary Club’s traditional spit roast with beer games, music, and rides for the kids. You can even win this book – the story of four women forced to spend a season each in the century-old Dandelion House, back in the country town of their youth, where they discover a secret that binds them to the house and to each other forever.
Who else is doing the blog hop this weekend? See Book’d Out and Confessions from Romaholics.
My favourite room in the house is the bedroom. It masquerades as my office in the winter and I LOVE my electric blanket.
My favourite room in the house is my office as I love my computer and spend most of my time working on it.
LOL! Jenn J McLeod, you must have too much time on your hands to create this HUGE Australia Day program!! What a town. You’d hardly have time to have a beer 🙂
I’m pretty fond of my bathroom (the bathtub particularly) but if it counts as a room, my backyard with my hammock would win.
Cate xo
We have a reading room albeit the smallest room in the house and often overrun by unfolded washing but it is my favourite room since all my books are there. I’ve tweeted as well 🙂
Great giveaway, here’s my hop giveaway: http://daystarz.wordpress.com/2013/01/25/australia-day-book-giveaway-blog-hop/
Fabulous post Jenn!! My favourite room is the kitchen as that’s where the family all hang out:)

My favourite room in my house is my bedroom. I can do everything in there. My bed is so lovely and cosy, and the headboard is so big, I can always (and do always) prop myself up to read a book and relax with a cup of tea or coffee. There is ample space in our bed for family cuddles with the fiancé and the toddler, and in winter the heater makes it the cosiest, warmest room in the house. My windows in there are huge and let in all the beautiful sunlight. I love my bedroom.
Ha ha … I love it! Great post Jenn …
Love it! Fantastic post, Jenn. Whet the appetite anymore and I’m going to gnaw my arm off waiting for this book to arrive in my letter box!!!
Oh no, I didn’t read the instructions (how unusual for a pilot person…). My favourite room is the outdoor one by the pool where we spend most of our time. The tropical gardens, glistening water and high wooden ceiling always make me feel as though I’m in a peaceful luxury resort. All I need is the masseuse and I’d be in heaven!
Happy Australia Day to the good folk of Calingarry 🙂
Have tweeted! And my favourite room is outside (that counts, right?) – the balcony! Table for four and a reclining deck chair where I read and write under the shade of a tree (not a Coolabah tree though). 🙂
My favourite room in the house is my bedroom…that’s where I do most of my reading;) Have a wonderful Aust Day weekend:) And thanks for the opportunity!
Favourite room in the house is my lounge – because that’s where my computer is and, as you are aware, I love FB and Goodreads!! Happy Australia Day and thanks for the awesome giveaway.
My favourite room would be my bedroom because my bed is like a big fluffy pillow and its full of bookshelves so if i finish one book i can just reach for the next one
My bedroom. Only because when I’m in there it doesn’t make the ink bleed on my pages, nor do I have to worry about dropping the book in my bathtub :p Oh and its all just mine 🙂
Like most here, my favourite room in the house is my bedroom, I love to stay up all night reading in bed, and then snuggle down deep into my doona and sleep-in the next day.
Happy Australia Day and thanks for entering me in the competition. I’ve tweeted your message @Carpe_Librum1
I love my kitchen. We have just sold this house and we move next week so I’m currently house hunting. My kitchen is timber, mixed with mini-orb, mixed with a black granite bench. The mini orb was our ‘tribute’ to the old-time shearing sheds. When we had a designer draft the house, we gave him a photo of an old shearing shed on the Lindsay Park (former) horse stud in the Barossa as inspiration and he came through for us. It’s making me very hard to please when looking for the next house. Love how you’ve created Calingarry, Jenn.
Jenn, that was just amazing! I too wonder where you find the time.
my favourite room in our house is our kitchen. Its the heart of the home. It has personality. Its not perfect yet it is functional. Its were the bookwork is done, the meals are prepared, many cups of tea enjoyed with laughter, tears and memories shared and created.
My bedroom/fortress of solitude.
My bedroom as all my books I love are kept there and I can get under the covers when it cold and spend the day reading . Thanks for participating in the hop
My favourite room in the house is the computer room where there is also a tv and my bookshelves live with a nice comfy lounge ready for me to curl up with a book and read on.
Hi everyone! Jenn here.
Well, I’d say we are defintiely a bunch of readers given reading in bed is making the bedroom the most popular room in the house at this point in time. Hope you are all enjoying your Australia Day.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
What a fantastic post!
My favourite room in the house…well, since it’s Australia Day it has to be the veranda. I love how verandas shade the house, are both open or enclosed when people need more space and that the sea breeze blows in and makes summer lovely instead of exhausting 🙂
I am another one for the bedroom – spent my Australia Day reading in bed – perfect!
I have tweeted the giveaway!
Thanks for participating in the hop.
Hi,
my favourite room is the living area. A bit like Grand Central Station at times, but it is the hub & I like that.
Cheers!!
My favourite room in the house is the kitchen. I love cooking almost as much as I love eating…
Thanks so much for the giveaway!! My favourite room is definitely the lounge because you can both read and watch tv in comfort. However it’s sort of my dream to one day have my own library room.

I like the living room, as I do most of my reading on the couch!
Have also tweeted for you, the book sounds great!
Thanks for hosting a giveaway!
Jenn,
My favorite room in the house is my office because it is the only room where I can get a teensy tiny bit of peace.
Hi great read. My favourite room in the house would have to be my den come office
in here I have bookshelves full of books and a special book case dedicated to “Writing the most Romantic Nove” which I hope to be able to do real soon….ho…hum
My fabourite room is my study. I have everything in here including a futon for lolling on, bookcases and shelves stuffed with books, an air con and ceiling fan and a another bed for my dogs. I think its perfect.
Lolling. LOL Must tell you a story about that word one day. Yes, room for the dogs is essential.
My favourite is the bedroom, I get to read and dream about things. I also get time to myself and I can relax and sleep.
Hello Jenn, I grew up in a small country town – and yes they hold big secrets. My favorite room in the house is the family room. All the best, Joe Jeney
I love my kitchen/dining area. The feeling that comes from creating something that will be enjoyed and appreciated by some other people is comforting for me.
I have tweeted this promotion.
My favourite room in the house is my bedroom. It is filled with all of my favourite books and art work to keep me creative!
Howdy my favourite room in the House would have to b the bathroom in the bath reading books and time to get away from the kids and just relax 🙂
My favourite room is the kitchen. When cooking it creates yummy aromas, warmth and it brings people together as everyone loves food!
Running on the rails, as usual, I’ll say that my favourite room is my bedroom, because my bed is in it! I sleep in it, work in it, and read in it. If it had tea making facilities and a fridge I might never leave it. This is why I will never install a fridge in my bedroom…
Thank you everyone. I appreciate you dropping by and sharing your favourite room in the house. If I was picking a winner based on answers there are quite a few standouts. Instead, it must be a name out of a hat. I will be closing this giveaway at midnight EDST and tomorrow, as long as we have not flooded or had a gum tree drop on the house, I will do the draw with help from my muse. I will post the winner here and also email you to arrange for a copy of House for all Seasons hot of the press on March 1.
Speaking of March 1 – official release day – I will have a big surprise that day so come back to my blog.
AND THE WINNER IS…
‘Marg’! Marg, your name was ‘drawn’ from the dish. Rather than using random.org I used random.dawg! That’s right… dawg!
I put everyone’s name (including those from the previous mystery author bog post) into a dog bowl with one dog biccie at the bottom and one desperate dog. Lucky for me I retrieved the piece of paper before the dog ate it with the biccie – otherwise it might have been a couple more days until I could announce the winner!!!!
Seriously, congrats Marg. I will email you and as long as you live in Aust or NZ I will send you your copy of House for all Seasons hot off the presses end February.
To everyone who took the time to drop by – thank you for joining the hop and thank you to Book’d Out and Confessions from Romaholics for coordinating the event.
(BTW – If I’d been allowed to pick a winner based on comments, Cin would get my vote. Beautifully put, ‘Cin’.)
[…] is taking part and giving away a copy of HOUSE FOR ALL SEASONS. Here is Jenn’s link to her Aust Day post and on the bottom you will find a link to Book’d Out’s list of about 52 […]
Congratulations Marg!
