Well actually – no, not me! I’d never seen the original Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice (and I love him). So after much hounding by my fellow Bootcampers I finally found the DVD. I got all very excited and decided to make a day of it.
It was an unusually cold and rainy day for sunny Coffs Harbour so I stocked up on munchies and wine, snuggled on the lounge with my two muses (my mutts – Strawberry and Daiquiri) and pressed play.
I actually watched the entire six (or was it eight) hours in one sitting (yes the dogs had a hungry look in their eyes towards the end!)
The next day I watched the more recent version with Andrew Macfadyn and Keira Knightly. But I remain undecided on who my favourite Mr Darcy is out of the two.
Who is yours? Vote now!
I think Colin is the better of the two, but what about the rather swoon worthy Elliot Cowan of ‘Lost in Austen’? Yummo!

I think Colin has the puppy dog eyes down pat, but Elliot would catch my eye. Then again, he’s my age, so maybe that’s something to do with it?! 🙂
I thought about adding Elliot – but not until after I’d designed the poll that took me waaaaay too long. So maybe next time!
Jenn,
I am undecided – I voted in the poll. I think they are both equally yummy. Recently saw Andrew Mcfadyn in Frost Nixon, which is a must-see flick. He’s still gorgeous, but a little bit gone to seed!
I really couldn’t come at the last episode of Lost in Austen – it lost the plot for me, so doesn’t count.
I mean, Lizzy WAS meant to be with Mr Darcy, not some ditzy Y-Gen chick with fat lips.
Colin is the one for me. I have both DVDs (because I'm an Austen nutter) & while Matthew is growing on me (yes I've watched it more than once), for me Colin wins hands down.
I watched the 8hrs of P&P on Saturday as well. I was going to watch Gone with the Wind as well but thought I'd sat on my butt long enough. LOL.
Great post Jenn.
I’m not going to vote because I haven’t seen them both.
But I have to disagree – what is unusual about it being cold and rainy in Coffs? We’re turning into Melbourne up here.
LOL Diane – but when you run a tourism business it’s always sunny!!!!
